[SHORTS] Freelancing Platforms don't work, they take away your power
Here's why...
Here's why...
An abundance of options means the Client party holds the leverage.
It's easy to discount you as just another service provider in the pool of offers. As always, if they hold the leverage, you're forced to yield to their whims and woes.
What should you do instead?
Position yourself as an authority with public visibility.
Focus on building a resilient brand around a narrow niche and triple down on that.
This will ensure that if you get clients, it's because of your work and how you do things.
Your work speaks for itself and attracts clients that fit your expertise.
When this happens, you hold the leverage.
"They need you more than you need them.
"They sought you out after all.
Hence, you can name your terms much more comfortably and be able to build a strong and lasting presence.
The caveat?
Don't be an exploitative douchebag.
Be fair.
Do you think taking advantage of your clients in the short term will give you more $$$?
It won't.
They won't return or refer to you.
Instead, be fair. Name your prices, but make sure it's truly justified.
Because with that, you not only get $$$ but also a relationship that can potentially become your lead generating machine.
